Treat latency as a workflow decision.
Live processing includes ingest, analysis, rendering and delivery. Agree the acceptable delay for the use case and measure the whole path. A social highlight workflow and a continuous live portrait stream may have different requirements.
Design rules for the program.
A studio segment may alternate between anchors, guests and packages. Sports may include wide play, replays, score graphics and interviews. Define a layout for each situation, including what happens when the scene cannot be classified confidently.
Protect essential information.
Keep scoreboards, speaker identity, captions and breaking-news information readable. Agree how old lower thirds and overlapping graphics should be handled. Editorial review can remain part of the workflow where risk or uncertainty is high.
Validate before going live.
Run representative recordings through the planned pipeline, then rehearse with the live source. Test interruptions, reconnections, output delay and publishing behavior. Monitor the output while it runs and maintain a fallback production path.
